Each puzzle keeps its own. They live in this browser’s local storage and nowhere else, so clearing your site data resets them.
If you like Wordle but would rather think than guess letters, this is the other thing. Everything that helps you costs you something, and every puzzle explains itself once it is over.
House rules
- Six attempts on each puzzle. A wrong guess uses one.
- A guess of the wrong length is refused rather than charged, so typos are free.
- CLUEDIT has four hints. A hint turns a letter over and uses an attempt.
- PHRASEDIT has no hints. It gives you eight tokens to buy letters with instead: consonants cost one, vowels three, and a letter that is not there costs you an attempt as well.
- FLIPPEDIT gives you a handful of flips, which cost no attempt — and a wrong guess that tells you nothing whatsoever about how close you were.
- Everything is graded on the server, so today’s answers are not sitting in this page waiting to be read.
- New puzzles at London midnight, the same three for everybody. Nothing here needs an account.
